Position Summary The Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, identifying, and organizing incoming materials, components, and supplies used in the manufacturing of automotive shipping racks. This position ensures materials are received according to purchase orders and delivery documentation and are properly staged or stored for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming steel, tubing, components, hardware, welding supplies, paint supplies, and other materials.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, dimensions, and descriptions against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documents.
- Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Properly label, identify, and organize received materials.
- Enter receiving information accurately into the company’s inventory system.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure received materials are properly assigned to the correct location.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Production personnel regarding incoming materials.
- Ensure materials are stored in designated locations and are readily accessible to production.
- Assist with inventory counts and investigate discrepancies when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and storage room.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Ensure materials are handled in a manner that prevents damage to products and equipment.
- Complete receiving paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate shortages, overages, damaged materials,
or incorrect shipments promptly.
- Assist with shipping, staging, and other warehouse duties as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous receiving, warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in a welding or metal manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, and basic manufacturing documentation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter information accurately into inventory systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing workplace.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
- Ability to work around welding, fabrication, painting, and other manufacturing operations.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Performance Expectations: The Receiver is expected to maintain accurate receiving and inventory records, ensure materials are available to production when required, identify discrepancies promptly, and contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing operation.
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
