Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Recreational Coordinator to lead engaging activities and programs that enhance the quality of life for residents in our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and needs, fostering a lively, inclusive, and supportive environment. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire residents to stay active, socially connected, and fulfilled every day.

Duties

- Coordinate and oversee recreational gymnastics programming for children of various ages and skill levels.
- Develop and organize engaging gymnastics activities that promote physical fitness, coordination, confidence, strength, flexibility, and skill development.
- Work closely with recreational coaches to ensure classes are organized, engaging, age-appropriate, and run smoothly.
- Create and maintain recreational class schedules, coach assignments, lesson plans, and program information.
- Support coaches with skill progressions, class activities, and strategies for keeping children engaged and motivated.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding class schedules, program information, registration, progress, and any concerns.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child feels comfortable learning and participating.
- Monitor classes and ensure proper safety procedures and gymnastics facility rules are followed at all times.
- Assist with staff training, orientation, and ongoing support for recreational coaches.
- Help organize special events, open gyms, camps, demonstrations, and other recreational programming.
- Monitor class enrollment and assist with maintaining appropriate class sizes and groupings.
- Address parent, coach, and participant concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Track recreational program participation, attendance, and feedback to help improve programming.




- Work collaboratively with the Building Manager and Competitive Coordinator to support the overall success of the gymnastics club.
- Promote a fun, safe, and welcoming gymnastics experience for all children and families.
- Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a gymnastics or recreational sports environment is preferred.
- Experience working with children of various ages and skill levels is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of recreational gymnastics, including basic skills, progressions, and age-appropriate activities.
- Gymnastics coaching experience or relevant gymnastics certification is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, coaches, and staff.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple classes, coaches, and program responsibilities in a busy environment.
- Energetic, positive, patient, and enthusiastic personality with a genuine passion for working with children.
- Ability to create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities that keep children motivated and excited about gymnastics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle parent or participant concerns professionally.
- Ability to adapt activities and instruction to meet the individual needs and abilities of each child.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member.
- Vulnerable Sector Check required.
