We are seeking an experienced and motivated Journeyman Lead Hand Automotive Mechanic to join our team at Tech Nation Auto Mechanical. Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to the customers.

The Journeyman Lead Hand Automative

Technician is responsible for performing high-quality diagnosis, maintenance, and repair work on customer vehicles in accordance with OEM standards. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of vehicle make and models.
- Service and repair gasoline, diesel, and light-duty/heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- Client-facing, able to communicate confidently and professionally with customers.
- Work with various manufacturers and aftermarket diagnostic software platforms.
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs.
- Assign and prioritize work to maximize shop productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure all repairs meet safety standards.
- Assist customers by explaining repair recommendations, maintenance requirements, and service options.
- Communicate effectively with management, service advisors, and customers regarding repair timelines and vehicle conditions.
- Complete work orders and service documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Skills

- Valid Red Seal certification as a Journeyman Automotive Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
- Proficiency with welding equipment and assembly processes related to automotive repair.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting.




- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on vehicles or parts.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Robust computer skills, with experience in inventory control, estimate preparation, and invoice processing software.

Qualifications

- Valid Journeyman Automotive Service Technician Certificate.
- Red Seal Certification is required
- Minimum 4 years of automotive repair experience.
- Experience working on multiple make and models of domestic and import vehicles. Diesel and transmission experience are considered an asset.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using a variety of OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software and scan tools.
- Heavy-Duty (HD) mechanical experience is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and discuss repair recommendations with customers.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, standing for extended periods, etc.)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
