Registered Architect

Chernoff Thompson Architects has a position available for a team member registered as an Architect with the AIBC. We are looking for well-rounded architects with experience in all aspects of design, documentation and construction. We have a number of high tech/biotech private sector, institutional, and industrial clients, as well as various projects for all levels of government, healthcare authorities, and various post-secondary institutions.
Our office is located in downtown Vancouver and usually consists of approximately 50+ staff.
We require motivated, highly disciplined staff with a strong design sense that enjoy working as part of a team.
We are looking for team players to join our leadership track, who are comfortable working with clients and consultants and have a high interest in design, detailing, and contract administration. We are also looking for individuals who are moving fast in their career track, but are able to provide measured guidance to junior Intern Architects.
Ideal candidates will have:
· Registration as an Architect with the AIBC or eligible to be registered within 3 months.
· Security clearance with the Federal Government or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
· 2-8 years experience as a Registered Architect in the province of British Columbia (or as registered in a similar jurisdiction)
· 8-12 years total working experience
· Excellent English language verbal and written skills
· Outstanding design skills
· Working knowledge of, and skills in, producing design and construction documents in Revit and Autocad.
· Contract Administration experience
· Experience in institutional building types
· Experience in all forms of structure - wood frame, steel, and cast-in-place concrete.
You will:
· Work closely with one or more Principals or Associates and more junior staff on teams of 3-6 persons.
· Be involved in producing drawings for design and construction documentation in Revit and CAD.
· Be involved in reviewing and producing specifications for projects.
· Be involved in project management gaining an understanding of firm management.
· Be involved in a variety of project types, including small and medium sized renovations, technically complex interior laboratory projects, healthcare projects, and new buildings.
· Be available for travel to some project sites.
· Bring a collaborative and enthusiastic attitude.
· Bring a high level of attention to detail to all your work.

Salary Rage: $80,000 – $95,000 (+ for extremely qualified candidates)
Salary to be commensurate with experience and education level. Candidates with different experience, education and skills than requested will have the salary range listed adjusted as appropriate.
