Temporary Medical Leave Coverage

$55.00–$58.50 per hour

Job Summary

Seymour Dental is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and dependable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team temporarily while one of our valued team members is on medical leave.

We are a friendly, supportive, and collaborative team working alongside respected dentists in a privately owned general dental practice. The successful candidate will step into a full, established hygiene schedule and play an important role in providing exceptional preventive care and a positive experience for our patients.

The working days may be flexible based on availability and may include any day of the week; however, coverage is definitely required on Thursdays and Fridays.

Hours: 7:30 a.m.–4:45 p.m.

Compensation: $55.00–$58.50 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including scaling, root planing, polishing, and preventive treatments
- Complete periodontal assessments and accurately document clinical findings
- Take digital dental radiographs when required and in accordance with established safety protocols
- Review patients’ medical and dental histories
- Educate patients about oral hygiene, preventive care, periodontal health, and recommended treatment
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants,



and administrative team members to support excellent patient care and efficient patient flow
- Follow all infection prevention and control standards and practice protocols
- Contribute positively to a respectful, supportive, and collaborative team environment

Qualifications

- Registered and in good standing, or eligible for registration, as a Dental Hygienist in British Columbia
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate patient records
- Experience with Dentrix is an asset but not required
- Previous experience in a general dental practice is an asset but not required
- New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
