Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team on our Obstetrical department here at the Northern Lights Health Centre in beautiful Fort McMurray. As our Registered Nurse, you will be utilizing our values (AHS cares) and Patient First Strategy in your practice to provide leading care to Albertans. Our Obstetric unit has 13 beds with an antenatal clinic adjacent to it for our population. You will also be cross trained to our Pediatric 8 bed Unit. Fort McMurray is located within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and is a thriving community with lively social arts, and recreational and cultural opportunities. In addition to our competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. The allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications: Recent two years of experience in a Pediatric and/or Obstetrical unit within the last 4 years. NRP.
Preferred Qualifications: Current Pediatric IV therapy/experience. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Current Pediatric Emergency Recognition Stabilization (PEARS). Current Obstetrical Education (ie. MoreOB). Current Fetal Health Surveillance course
