Medical Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Liverpool, Nova Scotia

Contract Duration: 8 weeks (with potential for extension)

Pay Rate: $90 per hour

Position Overview

Tahir Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Medical Unit at Queens General Hospital . This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking for a adaptable travel assignment in a rural hospital setting.

Hospital Overview

- A 24-bed medical unit caring for a diverse patient population.
- Patients range from stable individuals awaiting long-term care placement to acute cases requiring cardiac monitoring, post-surgical recovery, and chest tube management .
- Day shift core staffing: Two RNs, three LPNs, and two CCAs.
- Night shift core staffing: Two RNs, two LPNs, and one CCA.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct patient care in a medical unit setting with a mix of stable and acute cases.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring,



post-operative care, and other specialized treatments .
- Administer medications, assess patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
- Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

- Active RN License in Nova Scotia
- Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical unit setting
- Mandatory certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patient care
- Experience with cardiac-monitored patients and post-operative care is an asset
