About Us:
Refreshing Waters is a Mental Health Practice committed to providing compassionate, clinically sound, and faith-sensitive care to individuals and couples.
Our multidisciplinary team includes social workers, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals who serve clients with a wide range of emotional, relational, behavioural, and life concerns.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Psychologist to join our practice in a clinical supervision-only role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a psychologist who values both high-quality clinical practice and Christian faith-informed mental health care, and who enjoys mentoring and developing other mental health professionals.
The successful candidate will not carry their own client caseload. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clinical oversight, supervision, consultation, and professional mentorship to members of our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regular individual and/or group clinical supervision to the practice’s social workers and psychotherapists.
- Review clinical cases, assessments, treatment plans, interventions, progress, and discharge/termination planning.
- Provide consultation on complex presentations, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, family dynamics, and other significant mental health concerns.
- Support clinicians with clinical formulation, treatment planning, intervention selection, and ethical decision-making.
- Provide consultation and oversight regarding risk assessment and management, including suicide/self-harm concerns, abuse, safety planning, and situations requiring additional assessment or referral.
- Ensure clinicians are practicing within their professional scope, level of competence, and applicable regulatory and ethical standards.
- Review and provide guidance regarding clinical documentation,
informed consent, confidentiality, qualified boundaries, and record-keeping.
- Identify clinical strengths, areas for improvement, and professional development needs among supervisees.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to help clinicians strengthen their clinical judgment, confidence, and therapeutic skills.
- Support clinicians in navigating challenging clinical situations, ethical dilemmas, boundary concerns, and multidisciplinary issues.
- Help clinicians recognize situations that require additional consultation, referral, emergency intervention, or specialized expertise.
- Participate in clinical case consultation and team meetings as appropriate.
- Assist practice leadership in maintaining high standards of clinical care, risk management, ethical practice, and quality assurance.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of clinical policies, procedures, supervision practices, and standards of care.
- Encourage evidence-informed, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, client-centred, and ethically appropriate clinical practice.
- Provide guidance on the appropriate and ethical integration of Christian faith and spirituality when clinically relevant and consistent with the client’s wishes.
- Foster a supportive culture in which clinicians can openly discuss difficult cases, uncertainties, professional challenges, and areas for growth.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of supervision and consultation in accordance with applicable professional and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a senior clinical resource to the multidisciplinary team while allowing each practitioner to retain responsibility for their own professional practice.
