Role Description As a Registered Psychotherapist (Ontario) at Sukoon Cares, you will provide individual and, where appropriate, couples or family psychotherapy to clients from the South Asian diaspora. You will conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-informed interventions that are culturally responsive and aligned with client goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, coordinating care with other providers as needed, and adhering to skilled and ethical standards set by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
You will also participate in regular supervision or consultation, contribute to resource development for clients,
and support continuous improvement of Sukoon Cares’ services. This is a contract role and is fully remote, allowing you to provide virtual care to clients across Ontario.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health, including assessment, diagnosis (as appropriate within scope), and evidence-informed therapeutic interventions.
- Demonstrated skills in Counseling and Relationship Counseling, with experience supporting individuals, couples, or families through a variety of emotional and relational challenges.
- Understanding of Medicine and its relationship to mental health care, including the ability to collaborate with medical and allied health professionals when appropriate.
- Current registration in good standing
- Experience or strong interest in working with the South Asian diaspora and delivering culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport in a virtual environment.
- Comfort and proficiency with telehealth platforms, electronic records, and remote practice workflows.
- Relevant graduate-level education in psychotherapy, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline.
