Labourer 2 – Linear Asset Construction & Maintenance (Temporary)Business Unit: EPCOR Water Services. Location: Aurum Site, Edmonton, AB. Term: Up to 11 months. Positions Available: Up to two (2).About the RoleEPCOR Water Services is hiring experienced Labourer 2 employees to support our Linear Asset Services team within wastewater collection operations. This role involves physically demanding, safety‑critical field work supporting the construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of water and wastewater infrastructure throughout Edmonton.This position is best suited for individuals who have prior labour experience, are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and understand the expectations of industrial and municipal infrastructure environments. Candidates without relevant experience, physical capability, or a strong safety mindset are unlikely to find this role a fit.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety requirements and actively support EPCOR’s zero‑injury culturePerform work in accordance with EPCOR, departmental, and regulatory safety and environmental standardsAssist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater collection infrastructureSupport video inspection and proactive flushing of wastewater systemsPerform ground disturbance work, including installation of shoring and shieldingParticipate in confined space entries, including deep shafts and tunnelsOperate hand and power tools such as jackhammers, saws, compressors, grinders, drills, and air toolsInstall and remove traffic control barricades and perform flagging duties in high‑volume traffic areasDeliver materials and equipment to multiple job sites across EdmontonPerform utility and maintenance labour within treatment plant and field environmentsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma (Grade 12), GED,
or equivalentMinimum of 1 year of related labour experience (required)Experience in water or wastewater infrastructure construction is a robust assetFamiliarity with industrial or utility safety hazards and controls is an assetLicensing & TransportationValid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s Licence is required (Class 3Q is an asset)Maximum of 6 demerits and ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permitPoor driving behaviour may result in a candidate not being considered, regardless of demerits currently on fileA driver abstract may be required; past infractions for unsafe driving may result in non‑selectionReliable personal transportation is required to travel to multiple job sites and EPCOR facilitiesPhysical & Work ConditionsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsAbility to regularly lift, carry, and handle materials up to 22 kg (50 lbs.)Ability to perform sustained physical labour, including bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spacesAdditional RequirementsSuccessful completion of a Labourer Competency PassportLegal entitlement to work in Canada and minimum age of 18Pre‑placement medical, drug, and alcohol testing may be requiredSkills & AttributesStrong safety awareness and dependable work habitsAbility to follow direction and work effectively as part of a crewMechanical aptitude and comfort using tools and equipmentAbility to work independently in a fast‑paced, industrial environmentClear communication skills and professional conductAdditional InformationUse of a personal vehicle is required; mileage reimbursed in accordance with EPCOR policy.Jurisdiction: CUPE30Class: 7702Wage: starting at 28.18 per hour.Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.Hours of work: 10 hours per day, 4 days per week.
