Why Join BioPro?

Many pharmacy technician roles focus primarily on speed, volume, and repetitive workflow. At BioPro, you will have the opportunity to use your technical knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving ability to support patients through some of the most challenging parts of their healthcare journey.

You will help improve access to drug treatment, support medication understanding, collaborate with healthcare providers, and build relationships with patients who truly value your assistance. This is a role for a technician who wants greater flexibility, predictable hours, professional growth, and a stronger sense of purpose at work.

At BioPro Biologics Pharmacy, we do pharmacy differently. We are a specialized clinical practice focused on supporting patients managing complex, chronic conditions and biologic therapies. In addition to this specialization, we provide support for all medications and administer vaccinations as well as prepare non-sterile pharmaceutical compounds.

Rather than rushing through hundreds of repetitive prescriptions a day, our team takes the time to build real relationships, solve meaningful coverage challenges, and provide comprehensive patient support for patients around the province.

Because our focus is on specialized outpatient and clinic collaboration, our team enjoys true job satisfaction and with a predictable work schedule that is weekdays only and Statutory holidays off, there is genuine work-life balance.

BioPro Biologics Pharmacy (award winning practice and featured on the cover of Pharmacy Practice+) is located in the Health Hub of Vancouver near Vancouver General Hospital providing patient-centred care and services, education, medication management/navigation and health guidance to clients. You will support BioPro Pharmacists providing consultative services to clients, managing drug therapies for chronic conditions, assessing and prescribing to treat minor ailments, and requesting laboratory measurements. Our practice involves a ratio of more pharmacists than support staff and you will be supported with pharmacy assistants.

We prioritize medication management and pharmaceutical care and have a secondary focus on retail sales.

What makes this role different

- Insurance and coverage navigation. You’ll become an expert in PharmaCare Special Authority, private insurer prior authorizations, manufacturer patient support programs (PSPs) and compassionate/bridging coverage — getting clients access to necessary medications so they can start and stay on therapy.
- Medication education, not just dispensing. You’ll support patients learning to use injectable biologics, auto-injectors, infusion schedules and complex regimens, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the team of pharmacists and assistants.
- Lower volume, higher meaning. We’re not a high-volume dispensary. We take the time to do it right and support the patient.
- Real continuity. You’ll know your patients by name and follow their journey over years.

What you’ll do

- Liaise with insurers, prescribers’ offices, manufacturers and patient support programs to coordinate coverage and drug access
- Accurate prescription intake, data entry, dispensing, third-party billing and adjudication troubleshooting
- Coordinate specialty drug ordering, cold-chain handling, packaging and delivery/pick-up scheduling
- Support patients with medication education and device/administration teaching within technician scope
- Support the BioPro team to ensure protected, effective and timely access and dispensing of medicines and administration of vaccines
- Maintain meticulous documentation and follow-up systems, and contribute ideas to improve how we work

What you bring

- Registration as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of BC (or actively in the licensing process — new grads welcome)
- Strong attention to detail and genuine comfort with paperwork that changes lives
- Confident, warm communication with patients,

prescribers and insurers
- Organizational skills to juggle multiple applications and deadlines
- Experience with third-party billing or specialty/biologics experience is a big plus, and we’ll train the right person
- Empathy and patience with people living with chronic illness

Candidates must be:
- customer service focused;
- clear and articulate communications (verbal and written)
- knowledgeable or willing to learn about common and specialty drug therapies;
- able and prepared to provide one-to-one patient-centred care;
