Learn more about us on our website at ( Working in Remote CampsOur camps are located in remote areas and staff live on-site on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks.Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff.Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. A typical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime rates apply.Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essential for everyone working together at LandSea. Our team organizes all logistics and travel for employees to get to and from camp.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESOversee kitchen operations alongside the Chef to ensure quality, consistency and a safe workplace.Estimate food requirements, labor costs, demonstrate new equipment, prepare, and cook meals and specialty foods including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.Instruct 2nd Cooks and kitchen helpers in preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and teaching new cooking techniques.Ensure quality of food and portion control, create new recipes, requisition of food and kitchen supplies and equipment, schedule daily duties,



and supervise cooks and kitchen staff.Administration, inventoryAlways wear proper uniformsAssist with preparation and disassembly for moving and relocationAlong with the Camp Manager, facilitate safety meetings on the 1st and 15th of each month, ensuring that all staff report accidents, safety concerns, and work hazardsProvides first class customer service, kitchen, and facility cleanlinessPrepare and cook complete buffet style meals or individual dishes and foods consistent with menu planBaking a wide variety of foods, snacks, and desserts may be requiredMaintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipmentPrepare weekly food orders and input or process as directed by LandSea Head OfficeClean-up workspace surfaces, appliances, buffet lines, pots, pans, dishes and all food related equipment and suppliesAdhere to all safety practices, procedures and guidelinesThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 3-5 years' experience as Head Cook or 1st Cook within a remote camp environmentAdvanced Foodsafe CertificateGreat communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressureStrong organizational, communication, and leadership skillsTeam player that can provide support, motivation, and encouragement to othersExcellent attention to detail and well-developed organizational skillsStrong work ethic with an ability to work independently and in a team environmentAdhere to all safety practices,
