The role

Energy is our deepest delivered vertical: pipelines, LNG, oil sands, fuel retail, energy infrastructure. This seat owns it and grows it — on a fractional basis, built for a senior energy professional with an independent practice or a portfolio career who can protect committed weekly capacity.

The mandate is growth first: deepen the partner relationships behind our energy work, open current ones, convert one-off scans into recurring revenue, and land our first energy subscription. Delivery leadership comes with it — our clients are technical and want an expert across the table, not a salesperson. Our internal delivery team carries the project mechanics. We are buying your judgment, your client presence, and your network.

What you'll do

- Grow the book: deepen and open partner relationships, convert scans into follow-on and recurring work, land our first energy subscription, and build pipeline against targets you own.
- Lead energy engagements: scope partner requests into peer sets and analytical plans, direct our AI research pipelines, and hold every deliverable to top-tier-firm standard before it ships.
- Present the work: walk partners through findings, defend methodology under scrutiny, run iteration cycles, close engagements.
- Improve the system:



turn every QC finding into structural feedback for engineering so each report makes the platform better.

Work you'd be doing

- Value scan of a major Canadian pipeline operator, including methodology defense with the client team and follow-on RFP support
- Cost benchmarking of an LNG operator against global liquefaction peers
- Growth and efficiency scan of an oil-sands producer, including segmentation of a peer's Canadian assets
- Retail-network transformation analysis for a national fuel retailer, including scoping a site-level dataset across the full station network

Who you are

- 12+ years in energy at Director level or above: sell-side equity research (E&P;, midstream, infrastructure), energy investment banking, Big 4 energy transaction services or valuation, or strategy and corporate development at an operator.
- You have grown a book before: clients followed you, and you can point to revenue you originated.
- You know the Canadian energy landscape — oil sands, pipelines, LNG, fuel retail — and where the transition is taking each of them.
- Consulting-grade client presence: partners put their name next to your work.
- You can direct AI research pipelines, judge the output hard, and catch what the machine gets wrong.
- You run your own practice or a portfolio career and can commit reliable weekly capacity to this seat.

Structure and compensation

- Part-time by design: roughly two days per week of committed capacity on a monthly retainer
- Revenue share on the energy book, with a higher share on subscriptions and new sources you originate — full terms shared early in the process
- A defined path to a full-time Principal seat as the book grows, with first consideration going to you
