The Food Service Aide is primarily responsible for duties related to (but not limited to) mealtime plating and portioning of all menu items to serve our residents safely and in accordance with individual food preferences and diets, maintenance of unit specific product inventory levels, clearing and setting up of dining tables, cleaning and sanitizing of resident dining and service areas. Responsibilities are conducted with a focus on resident and family satisfaction. A clear understanding and practice of safe food handling and sanitation practices as specified through Aramark policies and procedures is required. The Food Service Aide performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with Aramark’s operational policies as well as within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts.Job ResponsibilitiesGreet guests as they arrive and depart in a timely manner.May be required to prepare and serve hot food.May be required to work as an expediter in the kitchen, keeping the orders organized, ensuring they get sent out to the right tables in a reasonable amount of time.Ensure accurate handling of all food products and equipment is maintained to ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times.Ensure cleanliness of food service work area.Maintain daily side work,
ensure any required logs are completed in a timely manner and also complete any restocking and cleaning duties.Keep accurate accounts and spoilage records.Must be able to work with diverse populations in an encouraging and positive manner.Respectfully handle guest complaints.QualificationsGrade 12 education or equivalent (minimum age 18 - preferred).Compliance with all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies and energy.Report to work on time and in complete uniform.Maintain cleaning schedule of equipment and facilities.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Must be adaptable and willing to work a multifaceted schedule, weekends and holidays are required.This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
