Personal Support WorkerLocation: Aurora / Barrie / Bradford / King City / Newmarket / North York / Orillia / Penetanguishene / Stouffville / Toronto / York, ONCompensation: $25.05/hrJob ID: 10476261Job SummaryThe Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for rendering a range of services for clients of the program, supporting the needs of vulnerable, at‑risk, older adults and seniors across multiple sites. The role focuses on the clients’ physical, cognitive, mental health, and social/recreational needs while maintaining program routines and safety practices. The PSW performs delegated responsibilities to ensure high quality personal care.What You Will DoAssist clients with physical and mental health needs, fostering respectful relationships and supporting daily living activities.Manage medical and behavioral issues, facilitate social engagement, and maintain accurate care documentation.Maintain safety and security by responding to emergencies, documenting incidents, and ensuring client well‑being through regular interaction.Oversee site‑specific medication responsibilities, monitor medication programs, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and program staff to resolve issues.Coordinate and participate in social and recreational activities, attend planning meetings, maintain participant records, and lead outings including driving clients.Perform operational and support duties such as managing communications, maintaining daily residence operations, coordinating emergency evacuations, attending meetings and training, working rotating shifts across housing sites,



and handling delegated tasks from senior staff.Complete other ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by the program manager.What You BringDiploma, certificate, or higher education in Human Services, Gerontology, or Personal Support Worker from a recognized college or university.First Aid and CPR training.Experience working with clients who have unique special needs, including cognitive impairment and/or mental health issues.Knowledge of medication, general health, and psychiatric conditions.Ability to organize activities and work with individuals and groups in assessment, problem‑solving, and crisis management.Positive and supportive interaction with clients.Demonstrated teamwork with multidisciplinary professionals and staff in a team environment.Good oral and written English skills.Computer skills required.Valid Ontario Driver’s License preferred.Work EnvironmentPhysically able to perform demanding body mechanics such as lifting and transferring. The role involves working in clients’ own homes, potentially exposing staff to secondhand smoke. Rotating shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays, are required.
