Computer Install TechnicianLocation: Nanaimo, BCOpportunity at MicroservePosition OverviewThe Computer Install Technician (internally known as Deployment Technician) is responsible for deploying and retiring IT hardware in branch or client environments. Duties include physical installation, transfer of settings or data, installation and configuration of software, and training and support for PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals. The position is based out of Nanaimo, BC and may require travel to other areas of Vancouver Island, including healthcare, government, and post‑secondary client sites.ResponsibilitiesPC hardware deployment and removalCable management to client guidelinesUpgrade PC hardware and equipmentDiagnose, repair, and upgrade PC software and equipmentImage workstations for new deploymentsRespond to customer inquiriesRecord‑keeping and asset managementSupport other departments as needed (e.G., printer/peripheral installation, audio/video tasks)Software and network configuration, troubleshooting, and installationWork proactively to ensure services meet client needsProvide computer and/or printer orientationCoordinate with 3rd‑party couriers for shipments to/from warehouseEnsure timely deliveries and customer serviceSkid deliveries and handle shipping logisticsUpdate delivery ticket status in systemsAssist with computer equipment moves and cascadesRetrieve old surplus systems and return to warehouse for wipingVerify all deliveries before accepting shipmentsOrganize and load product for delivery on assigned routesObtain product receipt paperworkAccept returns from customers and return to warehousePlace product in return area with appropriate documentationMaintain cleanliness of vehicleSkills & QualificationsMinimum: High School Diploma / GED (knowledge of computers, electronics, mechanics is desired)Ability to establish and maintain positive customer servicePreferred: College Diploma / Associate Degree (technical field)

Salary is determined by a combination of relevant experience, skills, competencies, geographic location, and internal pay equity.
