ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Writes several articles per week for The Eastern Door newspaper, meeting deadlines and stylistic guidelines
- Attends events, meetings, or other gatherings as required to cover an assigned story.
- Proactively seeks out stories relevant to Kahnawa'kehró:non and suggests to the reporter team
- Verifies facts, data, and statements to protect the integrity of the newspaper and conduct ethical, unbiased reporting

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS





- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or other relevant field.
- Experience reporting and/or in communications
- Genuine interest in Indigenous journalism
- Mobility to attend events, interviews, and assignments
- Kanien'kehá:ka and Onkwehón:we applicants prioritized

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Hybrid model with chance to work some days from home
- 37 hours/week
- Compensation: to be discussed based on experience
