Vision 74 Inc is a forward thinking, adaptive, and family oriented Nursing & Rest Home in Sarnia ON and we are looking for a detail oriented, compassionate, and caring individual to join our Rest Home Family as an Attendant.

POSITION SUMMARY: Works under the supervision and direction of DOC and/or Administrative Assistant by assisting residents with tasks that enable them to remain independent.

Resident Personal Care Duties

1. Report to the RH Manager/Clinical Support Lead or Attendant going off shift to receive shift report and any special instructions.
2. Follow daily, weekly and monthly routines for specific duties.
3. Answer call bells and provide assistance to residents as required.
4. Assist with unscheduled as well as scheduled personal care of resident as directed by the RH Manager/Clinical Support Lead.
5. Report any accidents or unusual incidents involving resident or staff members to the RH Manager/Clinical Support Lead
6. Observe the resident’s general physical and emotional well being to be done discreetly so as to maintain the feeling of independence and privacy of the residents. Report any changes to the RH Manager/Clinical Support Lead
7. Supports residents’ recreational programs.
8. Any deviation from usual routines or work left undone is to be communicated to the attendant coming on duty.
9. Document resident personal care activities in accordance with home policy on charting.

Some shifts may be required to assist with other duties not directly related to personal care. These may involve housekeeping, dietary, laundry etc. and will be decided by the RH Manager/Clinical Support Lead

General Responsibilities

1. Provide for the comfort and well-being of each resident.
2. Distribution of prescribed medications for residents and charting of medications.
3. Monitor and report changes in resident’s physical status in PCC.
4. Work as a member of a team with all other home personnel.
5. Be knowledgeable of and practice home’s Fire, Safety, Infection Control and Quality Assurance programs, Commitment to Residents, Goals, Mission and Philosophy Statements.
6. Be familiar with all changes in policies and procedures through posted notices and at staff meetings.
7. Complete all mandatory education and ensure staff meeting minutes are read, understood and Sign Back Form has been returned to Human Resources if not in attendance at Staff Meeting.
8. Laundry service when on night duty as described in Attendant’s night duty routine.
9. Maintain knowledge of resident diets, allergies and food restrictions as per DSR binder/Meal Suite program for meal and snack service.

Job Type: Casual Pay: $19.19 per hour
