Retail Associate -Safari Market | Full-Time | Saskatoon, SK120 Apex Street #15.

Safari Market is looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Retail Associate to join our team in Saskatoon. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in keeping things organized, and is comfortable helping wherever needed in a busy grocery workplace.

Duties

- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs, offering product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits
- Operate the cash register and process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately
- Stock and organize grocery shelves, coolers, and displays
- Check products for proper pricing, labels, quality, and expiry dates
- Keep shelves stocked, clean, and presentable
- Assist customers in locating products and answering basic questions
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming inventory
- Maintain cleanliness around the checkout and grocery areas
- Help with general store duties as required
- Conduct engaging product presentations and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities

Qualifications

- Friendly and confident when dealing with customers
- Reliable, respectful, punctual, and responsible
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment




- Able to stand for extended periods and safely handle grocery boxes and inventory
- Previous cashier, grocery, retail, or customer-service experience is an asset, but training can be provided
- Familiarity with African, Caribbean, or international grocery products is an asset, but not required
- Previous experience in retail sales or technical sales is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Experience with technology sales or conducting product demos is a plus
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing POS systems
- Excellent organizational skills to keep the sales floor tidy and well-stocked
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly phone etiquette for remote inquiries or follow-ups
