We emphasize meeting people, staying active, and above all, having FUN!Job DescriptionOur Event Coordinators and Convenors play an key role in the overall success of our leagues, because they are responsible for ensuring that the games run smoothly every night. We are looking for a few dedicated, hard‑working, and trustworthy part‑time staff to help coordinate our sports leagues at our venues. Although many of our leagues are self‑officiated, we require competent, personable, and confident staff members at every venue to act as the face of the league, set up equipment, monitor the games, answer member questions and/or concerns, and resolve issues as they arise. We do offer some leagues which are officiated – such as soccer – and we are also looking for part‑time staff members interested in becoming referees for those leagues.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate game schedules with the league officeGain early access to the venues prior to each shiftMaintain positive relationships with all venue staffSet up any necessary equipment for the gamesGreet members as they arrive and provide excellent customer serviceMonitor all games,



assist with issues and incidents as they ariseAct as a referee in some cases (extra training provided)Report back to league office with any pertinent post‑shift informationTake photos of teams or gameplay to be posted on our social media pagesKnowledge, Skills, & ExperienceMust be 18 years or olderMust have access to a car, or ability to navigate well on public transportMust be dependable and trustworthyPrior knowledge and/or experience with sports is considered an assetExperience as a referee/official is preferred, though not necessaryExperience with customer service is also an assetConfidence is key to succeeding in this role, and must also have strong problem‑solving skillsEffective conflict resolution and teamwork skillsLocationsThis role will take place at various venues around the City of Hamilton. The successful candidate(s) will eventually be assigned specific locations on specific days/times, and would have a fairly well defined weekly schedule, based on their availability.Shift TimesAll of our League Games take place Sunday to Thursday evenings, so it should be expected that all of the available shifts will take place at those times.
