Job Title: Java Fullstack Developer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract

Rate: $60-65/hr INC

Job Description/ Responsibilities

We are looking for a Full Stack Java Developer to build and enhance up-to-date web applications using Angular on the frontend and Java/Jakarta EE on the backend. The role also requires working knowledge of databases and practical familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and LLM application components (e.g., vector databases and orchestration frameworks). You will collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, testable, container-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain SPA features using Angular 17+, TypeScript 5.x, and Angular Material / Material Design.

· Build backend services using Java 17+ and Jakarta EE 10 (REST APIs, validation, security, integration patterns).

· Design and implement API contracts, error handling, logging, and performance-conscious services.

· Write and maintain automated tests:

o Frontend: Jest

o Backend: JUnit 5

· Work with databases: create/modify schemas, write queries, tune basic performance, and support migrations.





· Apply AI tools and patterns to improve productivity and/or product features:

o Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf/Devin) effectively and responsibly.

o Integrate or support LLM-based capabilities using vector databases (e.g., ChromaDB or similar) and orchestration frameworks (LangChain or Haystack).

· Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews and branching workflows.

· Build and package applications using Maven; containerize and run services with Docker.

· Collaborate in agile ceremonies, contribute to estimations, and communicate progress and risks clearly.

· Troubleshoot issues across the stack (UI, API, database, container/runtime) and contribute to root-cause analysis.
