Role Description The Risk Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This position supports risk assessment and monitoring activities across real estate finance and insurance engagements, including reviewing loan and insurance documentation, analyzing portfolio data, and preparing risk reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves conducting financial and risk analyses, tracking key risk indicators, assisting with due diligence on new loans and renewals, and supporting claims and recovery investigations.

Associate will collaborate closely with senior consultants and client teams to gather information, validate assumptions, and contribute to recommendations that protect capital and manage exposure. The role also includes maintaining accurate records in internal systems, contributing to process improvements, and ensuring timely, clear communication with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex insurance risk management data sets and perform structured risk and valuation analysis.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly in written reports and verbal discussions.
- Foundational knowledge of insurance, real estate, finance, including financial statements, and loan structures.
- Understanding of insurance risk management principles and practices within real estate or financial contexts.
- Experience or interest in the financial services sector, particularly lending, insurance, or real estate finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- High attention to detail, robust organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and maintain professional, client-focused conduct.
- Experience with real estate lending, insurance underwriting, or risk consulting is an advantage but not required.
