This temporary full-time opportunity is for a period up to August 31, 2027. This position is for Program Manager, Healthy Environments.The Program Manager, Public Health leads a multi-disciplinary team to effectively deliver public health programs in accordance with the Ontario Public Health Standards, legislation and collective agreements, consistent with the vision, mission and values of the Health Unit and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.Responsibilities and QualificationsDemonstrate Chatham-Kent’s core values and competenciesLead a team in a quick-paced and constantly changing unionized and non-unionized environmentDevelop, implement and evaluate new and existing Public Health ProgramsMonitor program performance and make adjustments to ensure targets are metConduct quality assurance audits of programsUse evidence and research to inform public health practiceOversee an annual operating budget as specified by Ministry and municipal guidelinesEstablish standards, service delivery guidelines and program models that respect and address population diversityDevelop, recommend and implement program policies and proceduresLiaise and work collaboratively with municipal departments, community agencies, corporate partners, and consumers by participating on community boards, committees, and task forces related to public health issuesIn collaboration with community partners, advocate for public health policyPrepare reports for and make presentations to the Board of HealthConfer with medical staff to ensure health care services are rendered according to legal and professional standardsProfessional standardsUniversity degree/or internship and professional designation (in health, science, social science, education, or business program with emphasis in health promotion, public health,



environmental health, or nursing), with four (4) to six (6) years of related experience; Masters degree preferredProgram management experience, preferably in a public health environmentBroad knowledge of public health issues, population health, epidemiology and applicable legislationExperience with program planning and evaluationOverseeing annual operating budgetSupervisory experience, preferably in a public health and unionized environmentStrong communication skills, written and verbal, preferably in multiple languagesStrong organizational, time management, problem solving, and decision-making skillsStrong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (or similar software program)Other qualificationsKnowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and/or experience participating in CQI projects is an assetThe ability to communicate both written and oral French language is an assetCertifications, memberships, licensesCertificate in Public Health Inspection in good standing (Canada), CPHI(C), issued by the Board of Certification of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors is preferredWork environment/hours of workThis position works mostly indoorsThis position works weekday and evening hours and on call after hours and on weekends on a rotating basisDriver’s licence/vehicle requirementsBecause this position would be required to travel, a valid Province of Ontario driver's license with a reliable motor vehicle is necessary.Background check requirementsBecause of the environment this position will be working in,



the successful candidate will be required to furnish an original Police Information Search (Criminal Record Check) prior to commencement of employment.Essential physical and/or safety requirementsMask fit testing (N95)2 step TB skin test to be completed within two weeks of starting positionSitting: infrequent sitting in vehicleHands: frequent fine finger dexterity (movement) and mousingThis temporary full-time position has an hourly wage of $65.437 to $76.976 and will receive 15% in lieu of benefits (which includes group benefits, statutory & non-statutory holidays, and non‑enrolment in OMERS) and 4% vacation pay.
