Position Overview
Supply Ontario is seeking a highly experienced Applications Architect – Senior to provide technical leadership in a complex enterprise technology environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining application architecture, technical designs, application integrations, enterprise architecture deliverables, and cross-platform solutions.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands‑on software development, systems engineering, or related experience , strong leadership experience, extensive IBM Maximo expertise, enterprise Cloud transformation experience, and a strong background in application architecture and integration.
Experience working within the public sector is mandatory , with utility‑industry experience being highly preferred.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience in software development, systems engineering, or a similar role, combined with extensive IT leadership experience in complex technological environments.
- Post‑secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications.
- Experience in a technical advisory or consulting role, preferably within the utility industry.
- Experience documenting functional and technical designs and configuring applications to support business processes and user stories throughout the work order lifecycle.
- Experience leading major enterprise‑wide Cloud transformations.
- Working knowledge of:
- Cloud adoption
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Software‑defined infrastructure
- Private and public Cloud environments
- Extensive experience with the IBM Maximo application suite and platform.
- Strong knowledge of Maximo functionality, reliability, availability, performance, security, databases, and supporting tools.
- Robust Maximo super‑user capabilities.
- Experience with Maximo 7.6, including 7.6.1.2.
- Working knowledge of Maximo 9.1 / MAS 9.1.
- Proficiency in Maximo upgrades and development.

Key Responsibilities
Application Architecture & Technical Design
- Define the overall structure, logical components, and relationships within complex application and technology environments.
- Define application structures and relationships, including reusable components, quality metrics, software organization, layering, and interfaces.
- Develop, implement, and manage cross‑platform applications within large and distributed environments.
- Monitor systems and understand interactions between components at different levels of abstraction.
- Define source‑code limitations, technical requirements, and architectural standards.
- Define interactions between application packages, databases, middleware, and related systems.
- Develop functional and technical architecture and design documentation.
Enterprise Architecture
- Develop enterprise architecture deliverables, including architecture models and supporting documentation.
- Support application architecture and infrastructure design for large‑scale enterprise implementations.
- Lead or contribute to multi‑tier application infrastructure design, documentation, and configuration.
- Apply structured methodologies for application design, development, and implementation.
- Ensure architectural solutions align with enterprise standards and business requirements.
IBM Maximo Architecture & Development
- Provide extensive technical expertise across the IBM Maximo suite.
- Support the continuous improvement of Maximo functionality, dependability, uptime, performance, security, databases, and supporting tools.
- Lead or support Maximo upgrades and development across 7.6.1.2 and MAS 9.1 environments.
- Design, configure, develop, and integrate Maximo applications.
- Work across Maximo modules, including Work Order Management, Asset Management, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance, Configuration, Scripting, and Reporting.
- Design and manage integrations between Maximo and other enterprise systems.
- Support asset management application development and integration with ERP systems.
Cloud Transformation
- Lead major enterprise‑wide Cloud transformation initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of Cloud adoption strategies and software‑defined infrastructure.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches.
- Support architecture across private and public Cloud environments.
- Ensure Cloud solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, performance, and operational requirements.
Stakeholder & Technical Advisory
- Act as a technical advisor and consultant to business and technology stakeholders.
- Communicate new features, benefits, technical assessments, analysis, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Work effectively with business partners, leadership, vendors, and technical teams.
- Facilitate discussions and support technical decision‑making.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business‑oriented recommendations.
General Skills & Experience
- Experience developing and implementing application architectures at the required senior level.
- Extensive experience working across at least two different computing platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, programming languages, and communication protocols.
- Experience with middleware and gateways.
- Knowledge of performance considerations across different technology environments.
- Experience with structured application design, development, and implementation methodologies.
- Extensive systems analysis and design experience within large‑scale environments.
- Experience using development tools, CASE tools, information retrieval packages,
project management software, and business re‑engineering tools.
- Experience with data and process modelling methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- Working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries.
- Experience developing enterprise architecture deliverables and models.
- Awareness of emerging I⁢ trends and technology directions.

- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Experience designing detailed functional and technical requirements for new and existing business solutions.
- Experience developing enterprise architecture models and supporting documentation.
- Experience leading multi‑tier application infrastructure design, documentation, and configuration for medium or large corporate implementations.
- Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining large complex applications.
- Experience with workflow processes and dynamic forms.
- Utility industry experience is highly preferred.
Additional Requirements

- Strong process management and controls to minimize risk exposure.

Mandatory Work Arrangement
