About The RoleAs a Business Systems Engineer on our Global e‑Commerce and ERP team, you will sit at the intersection of business and technology. You will translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications and help design robust, automated solutions within our large‑scale, homegrown ERP and e‑commerce platforms. You will partner closely with Technical Product Managers, developers, operations teams, vendors, and resellers to enable smooth API‑based integrations, resolve production issues, and continuously improve the systems that power our global business. This role is ideal for someone early in their career (1‑3 years) who enjoys problem solving, data analysis, and working with modern tools such as Java, SQL, Python, RESTful APIs, and AI‑assisted development tools (e.G., Cursor).What You’ll DoWork with TPMs to understand business needs and background context, then convert these into detailed technical specifications and backlog items for the development team.Design technical solution approaches—including conceptual, logical, and physical designs—and support API‑based integrations with external vendors and internal platform services.Manage multiple RESTful APIs across vendors, handling differing standards, data mappings, and authentication methods.Maintain and support the e‑commerce platform and other related systems in a global, homegrown ERP environment.Investigate and troubleshoot production issues, often using SQL to analyze data and understand root causes.Collaborate with site operations and development teams to resolve system issues raised by resellers and customers, providing technical insight.Engage with business and IT partners to clarify requirements and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business goals.Use monitoring, logging, troubleshooting,
and debugging tools to support stable and reliable production environments.Assist with data analysis prototypes and data migration activities under guidance from senior team members.Complete technical assessments (Java, Python, SQL) as part of the recruitment process to demonstrate problem‑solving and coding skills.Requirements1‑3 years of relevant work experience in systems engineering, business systems analysis, software engineering, or a related technical role.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.Experience working with APIs (ideally RESTful) and integrating with third‑party or internal services.Practical experience with at least one of Java or Python, and strong skills in SQL and relational databases.Ability to translate business requirements into transparent technical designs and documentation.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to dive into data to understand issues.Clear, professional communication skills in English (written and verbal).Working Conditions & FlexibilityWork model: Remote / work‑from‑home in Canada or the U.S.; preference for candidates based in Ontario (Canada) or North America time zones.Schedule: Occasional non‑standard hours or overtime may be required; some on‑call availability may also be necessary for critical production support.Travel: May include local (in‑country) and global travel for key meetings or team events.CompensationHiking range: $70,000 – $75,000, depending on experience and location within the province.BenefitsElective benefits tailored to your country.Professional development programs on leadership, career growth, and on‑demand courses.Well‑being programs including financial, physical, and mental health resources.Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and inclusive communities.Onboarding program and community engagement activities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
