EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST The Richmond School District is currently seeking a full-time Educational Psychologist. This position is a continuing contract position.
All positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District’s Strategic Plan, specifically, Strategic Priority 1: Success for all Learners and Strategic Priority 2: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The School
Psychologist position includes opportunities to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment in the context of the Learning Services Department and with school personnel. This position also involves skilled consultation and supporting educational changes in a variety of contexts.
The Successful Candidate Will Also
- Provide collaborative consultation with teachers, parents, and community agencies, and at school-based team meetings
- Provide ongoing collaborative planning for students and classrooms and assist with pre-referral interventions
- Provide individualized psycho-educational assessments (based on student need)
for students referred through the school-based team process
- Contribute to the development of educational plans such as the IEP
- Provide in-service training in the areas of interventions, progress monitoring, data collection and/or assessment
- Assist with the Ministry of Education processes for designation and adjudication
- Provide professional learning opportunities for staff
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in school/educational psychology
- Licensing/eligibility with the College of Health Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)with special training and supervision in school psychology
- Teaching certification with BC Teacher Regulation Branch an asset
