Our mission is to enable people on the autism spectrum to learn, to live and to engage in their communities.The RoleGCA is currently seeking an Instructor Therapist who will work directly with children with ASD and their families in an ABA Classroom, IBI or Essential Skills groups. Instructor Therapist duties include but are not limited to, conducting assessments, writing, implementing, and monitoring behaviour plans, data collection and display, as well as training and supporting caregivers.What your Day Looks LikeOverall, the Instructor Therapist is responsible for providing direct service in an ABA Classroom, IBI or Essential Skills groups (under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst) in a one-on-on and/or in a group setting to include but not limited to the following:Implementing programs according to the treatment planCarrying a caseloadProviding input into each child’s curriculumAddressing personal care requirements of the child during each sessionMonitoring and tracking behavioural data/follow behavioural protocols - Preparing teaching materialsRecording and graphing data,



writing reports and progress notes and flagging exceptional circumstances as well as the need for changes to the program planParticipating in the treatment planning process with parents and relevant othersEnsuring ongoing communication with Clinical SupervisorLiaising daily with parents about the progress of the sessionDemonstrating and explaining effective strategies; modeling, supporting, mentoring and guiding the Junior Instructor TherapistsOther duties as assignedWhat you Bring to the RoleUniversity degree or College diploma in behavioural sciences, social services, psychology or early childhood educationMinimum of 1 year work experience required (2 years work experience preferred)Equivalent education and experience may be consideredTeam lead/mentor experience an assetHave a valuable understanding of early childhood education, autism and applied behaviour analysisPrevious experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or AutismAvailable to work evenings, weekend, in home and center-basedAn interest in professional development and further developing clinical skillsStrong interpersonal and time-management skillsAbility to work collaboratively with team members and accept feedback and directionStrong verbal and written communication skillsAccess to a reliable means of transportation (e.G., TTC,
