We are seeking reliable Landscape Maintenance Labourers to join our team for the remainder of the season!

The Maintenance

Labourer will directly support our contracted landscape maintenance sites as directed by the Crew Leads and Superintendent of Landscape Maintenance.

The Landscape

Labourer role offers hands on creativity to make every day flora and properties eye catching. As a Labourer, you support the team, take on basic responsibilities, and follow through with the full job scope on every site you visit.

MDL Landscaping serves Cochrane, Calgary, Airdrie, and surrounding areas in between.

Responsibilities

- Work side-by-side with your Crew Lead by operating job scope related equipment to fulfill landscape maintenance needs.
- You will be relied upon to accomplish certain job related tasks on your own on larger work sites.
- Your job scope may include, but not limited to; mowing lawns, picking or trimming weeds, tiding mulch and flower beds, pruning trees and shrubs, and assisting with Fall leaf cleanup.
- Assist your Crew Lead and Team with equipment loading and unloading, on and off trailers, and perform proper lock-out procedures for travelling site-to-sites.
- Safely maneuver and operate any landscape maintenance related equipment within residential & commercial locations, sometimes with high pedestrian & road traffic or within other active construction sites.




- You will be responsible for following basic safety protocols for yourself and for your team's safety.
- While operating any equipment, you will do so with a high standard of awareness for safety, for yourself and the team around you.
- The Labourer will have opportunity to pick up hours in lieu of rain days.

Requirements

- You must be comfortable using lawn care equipment, such as hand-push mowers, ride-on mowers, whipper snippers, and or working with your hands and general landscape gardening related tools.
- Experience loading and unloading equipment, such as drivable mowers, and driving truck and trailer is a bonus, but not mandatory.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license (CDL Class-5).
- A basic understanding of the landscape maintenance process in a residential and commercial property aspect.
- Have basic technologically understanding for tracking your own hours and safety standard forms, digitally.
- Be open minded and have a solid willingness to learn.
- Be comfortable working with a team comprised of different personalities and skill levels.
- Basic mechanical knowledge, not required, but helpful for troubleshooting.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Strong attention to safety protocols and a detail-oriented approach to accomplish the job tasks.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
