You will be playing the role of Santa Clause. Santa Claus brings joy and happiness to families and children during a magical holiday season. As Santa at Lynden Park Mall, you will spread holiday cheer by engaging with children and families, listening to their wishes, and posing for photos. Your warm demeanour and festive spirit will create a magical experience for all visitors, ensuring a memorable visit with Santa.

Job Details:

Greeting Customers: Welcoming children and their families with a warm smile and festive spirit.

Listening to Wishes: Taking note of children's holiday wishes and gift requests.

Posing for Photos: Sitting for photographs with children and families, creating memorable moments.

Spreading Cheer: Engaging in lighthearted conversations and sharing holiday stories to create a joyful atmosphere.

Maintaining Character: Staying in character as Santa Claus, including using a jolly voice and mannerisms.

Collaborating with Staff: Working with mall staff for event coordination and addressing any issues that arise.

Promoting the Spirit of Giving: Encouraging kindness, generosity, and the holiday spirit among visitors.

As a mall Santa, maintaining a well-groomed appearance is essential to embody the beloved character, ensuring children feel excited and safe approaching him. Additionally, a strong, cheerful "Ho, ho, ho!" is crucial for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the holiday spirit for every visitor.

Patience: The ability to remain calm and composed, especially when dealing with excited or anxious children.

Imagination: Embracing the magic of the holiday season, often engaging in playful conversations.

Qualifications

Must have a passing police check for the vulnerable sector (Mandatory)

Patience and Empathy: Capacity to handle excited children, shy visitors, and various emotional reactions with kindness.

Experience with Children: Previous experience working with kids, whether in childcare, education, or customer service, is essential but not mandatory.

Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with children and parents effectively, listening to their wishes and responding appropriately.

Basic Acting Skills: Ability to embody the character of Santa Claus, including adopting mannerisms, voice, and gestures.Accompanied with the knowledge of Holiday traditions: Familiarity with Christmas customs and traditions to enhance interactions and storytelling.

Wearing a costume for long hours.

Flexibility in Scheduling: Willingness to work wide-ranging hours, including weekends and holidays, during the busy holiday season.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and engage actively with guests, including bending and lifting children.

Real white hair beards are preferred but not a requirement

Requirements:

Full contract completion, we expect you to agree to finish all hours and be on time for all shifts

Police check for the Vulnerable sector since you will be working so closely with children. We can help you with this.





Long sitting you will need to be able to sit for long periods of time

English requirement Able to read and speak English

25 lbs lifting ability to lift and hold kids

Must be 18 years old or older

Training in November on TBD dates

Hours and dates:

This is a seasonal contract, we require you to work all hours needed (aprox. 105hrs) Starting November 30th to and on December 24th (with a hard stop on Dec 24th at 4pm) these days include evenings and weekends. Please send a message for hours.

What we offer:

Contract work with a base payment: is $30-$35 an hour

Bonus: Possible at the end of the year for completion of all hours. TBD

Training: Training is mandatory, paid, and dates are tbd in November
