Hensall Co-op is seeking a dynamic individual to become an integral member of our Aylmer team! The Scale Room Operator is responsible for ensuring rapid and efficient operation of the scale at the Elevator by weighing, sampling, grading, and documenting all inbound and outbound loads and providing superior customer service. This is a seasonal position, starting immediately and ending approximately the end of November.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Weighing, sampling, and recording inbound grain crops (wheat, corn, soybeans, IP soybeans)
- Weighing, sampling, and recording outbound grain commodities and ensuring load meets customer specifications
- Direct inbound loads to proper pit for unloading
- Testing product quality using laboratory machines
- Grading all inbound and outbound loads for moisture, dockage, test weight etc.
- Completing all load records/documentation and filing properly in a timely manner
- Field customer inquiries/concerns and direct to proper personnel
- Answering phones and assisting with clerical duties as needed




- Data entry into Thede Ward for Bill of Ladings on outgoing container shipments
- Look up samples to respond to customer requests
- Understand and follow all HC Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

- This job requires standing and walking for long periods of time
- This position may be required to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proficient in time management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment with attention to detail
- Knowledge of different crops and general agricultural processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications:

- Previous experience in an agricultural setting is an asset
- Valid G Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $18.15-$22.50 per hour
