The role supports projects for formulation development, research and development and contract manufacturing partners within the worldwide Apotex microbiology network.Job ResponsibilitiesDisplays an understanding of and proficiency in microbiological method development, conducting method suitability testing.Good understanding of microbiology and the compendial requirements pertaining to method suitability testing. Works collaboratively with microbiologists and the supervisor in troubleshooting obstacles.Demonstrates a good working knowledge of LIMS.Assists senior microbiologist in the execution of protocols.Plans individual projects to ensure timely completion.Reviews work for accuracy and alignment with procedures.Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills; written technicalclarity.Supports projects in global harmonization of microbial practices,
processes and procedures.Supports projects for formulation development and research business partners.Coordinates and monitors availability of laboratory supplies and equipment.Communicates progress effectively within cross‑functional teams.Promotes a positive work environment and motivates peers.Works safely and collaboratively to achieve outcomes.Demonstrates Behaviours that reflect Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion.Adheres to compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.All other relevant duties as assigned.Job RequirementsEducation:Sc. in Microbiology, or a similar qualification in a closely related field.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Good computer skills; prior experience with LIMS advantageous. Able to interpret results and work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of microbiological techniques, compendia, regulatory requirements, Good Laboratory Practices. Detail oriented with excellent problem‑solving skills. Proven organizational and time‑management skills.Experience:1 year’s experience in a microbiology laboratory preferred. Experience in pharmaceutical microbiology is an asset.
