Tactical Shift Supervisor(Healthcare Security)Hours: 4 on, 4 off rotation, 12 hour shiftsPay Rate: $24.50Shift Supervisors are responsible for:Directing employees to perform to the standards of Paladin's policies and proceduresEnsuring employees have and retain knowledge of the site operationsEnsuring their team is made aware of and understand any Paladin issued memo/announcementEnsuring contractual obligations are met - such as no time loss on site. Addressing lateness, absences, and covering shifts as neededResponding to all emergencies; taking command ofthe situationEnsuring the health and safety of staff as it pertains to training on Paladin's Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and reporting any incidents that occur during their shiftDealing with disciplinary issues that arise on site, including completion of meetings and paperwork.Tactical Officers:Monitor the Emergency Department (ED), managing any aggressive behavior; Providing security presence and support throughout the EDConduct sets of rounds within the ED areaSit with aggressive, abusive, threatening, or high risk patientsRespond to code situationsWrite reports and investigate routine incidentsDisplay excellent customer service skill; ability to work with those under stress or in need of medical assistanceAssist in developing security plans for high risk patientsUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflictsOversee and support patient watch guards within the EDWork closely with local police and EHSEnsure the safety of staff, patients,



and visitors within the EDAssist hospital staff with patient restraints as required or directed according to standard operating proceduresAdhere to all hospital policy and procedures and maintain complianceMonitor site visitors and perform ID checks in accordance with site policies and proceduresEffectively communicate all suspicious activities, concerns, issues, and events to our dispatch team on behalf of the clients' assetsPrepare and maintain qualified and effective reports regarding the activities, security violations, and hazardous occurrences on siteYOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:This position includes enhanced physical requirement, including but not limited to:Be able to stand for up to 12 hoursBe able to walk and patrolling the facility, including use of stairsAbility to run and quickly respond to code callsBe able to participate in a physical training, such as use of force and physical restraining techniquesA minimum 1-2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or related fieldDiploma in Justice studies/police foundations is an assetAbility to obtain a provincial Security LicenseStandard/Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)English (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious Supervisory experienceCertifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are pre-requisites of this position.
