Position OverviewPermanent, Part‑Time – Nurses responsible for the medical assessment, care, safety, support and transition of youth in a secure, short‑term stabilization unit. Nurses report directly to the Program Coordinator.Primary ResponsibilitiesFacilitates admission and discharge of youth to the unitCompletes physical and mental assessments, develops a plan of action, accesses appropriate resources and makes appropriate referrals to address any health issues identified during the physical componentDevelops treatment plans in consultation with youth, parent(s)/guardian(s) and relevant team membersMonitors the health status of youth during their stay on the unitProvides medical treatment as required or directed by physician, such as dispensing and administering medication, skin and wound careProvides educational information regarding addiction and health promotion issues to youth, parents,



guardians and staffMaintains charts and health recordsAssists in the day‑to‑day tasks/routines in managing the unit as requiredQualificationsRN/BN/RPN, preferably with mental health or addictions experienceLicensed in ManitobaExperience working with addictionsStrong interpersonal skillsAble to work independently as well as in a team environmentGood communication skills, verbal and writtenEmergency First Aid/CPR Level CExcellent physical and mental healthAvailable to work various shiftsSatisfactory Criminal Record Check, a clear Child Abuse Registry Check and acceptable Prior Contact ChecksASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), NCVI, Mental Health First Aid, Protected Talk, preferredKnowledge of Resiliency preferredKnowledge of Aboriginal customs, traditions and beliefs will be considered an assetAdditional InformationSalary/Wage: $38.63 – $47.00/Hour | Location: Winnipeg | Category: Other | Job Type: Part‑time#J-18808-Ljbffr
