A well-established, independent Canadian brokerage is expanding its commercial lines practice and seeking an experienced
Senior Commercial Account Executive to take ownership of a premier, long-standing VIP client portfolio. You will manage and advise high-value commercial clients on their coverage, supported by a dedicated admin team that handles the paperwork so you can focus on building relationships, renewals, and account growth
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Stewardship:
Direct the strategy and servicing for a portfolio of established VIP commercial accounts, ensuring exceptional retention and continuity.
- Advisory & Solutions:
Act as the lead insurance advisor on complex risks, policy renewals, coverage enhancements, and market remarketing.
- Growth & Cross-Selling:
Identify organic expansion opportunities across existing accounts and write new commercial lines business.
- Underwriter Collaboration:
Partner closely with market underwriters and internal marketing specialists to place coverage and negotiate optimal terms.
- Workflow Leadership:
Oversee policy changes, endorsements, and renewals in coordination with your dedicated administrative support team.
What You Bring
- Experience:
10+ years of commercial insurance brokerage or account management experience handling mid-to-large commercial risks.
- Licensing:
Active BC Level 2 General Insurance License or CAIB / CIP designation. (A current Ontario RIBO license is an asset, or willingness to obtain it with company support).
- Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Applied Epic (or similar brokerage CRM) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Client Acumen:
Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills for senior-level client interactions.
- Independence:
Proven ability to manage an established book of business autonomously within a collaborative team setting.
