We're looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking Senior Advisor – eHealth Competence to help shape and advance this important initiative.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will partner with Clinical Informatics leaders, clinicians, educators, operational leaders, and provincial stakeholders to strengthen Clinical Informatics capability across the organization. Initially, your focus will be advancing the eHealth Competency Program in support of Clinical Informatics professionals. As the Program evolves, your work will help strengthen informatics capability more broadly, supporting the effective use of digital health technologies across the healthcare system.

Description

The Senior Advisor – eHealth Competence provides strategic advice, professional leadership, and subject matter expertise in advancing the organization's eHealth Competency Program. Working collaboratively across Digital Health and clinical operations, the Senior Advisor partners with Clinical Informatics leaders and stakeholders to strengthen informatics capability, support professional development, and promote excellence in Clinical Informatics practice.

Key accountabilities include: Providing strategic leadership in the ongoing advancement and continuous improvement of the eHealth Competency Program. Building collaborative relationships and engaging stakeholders across clinical, operational, educational, and technical teams to identify capability needs, build consensus, and advance shared priorities.



Providing strategic advice and translating organizational priorities into sustainable approaches that strengthen Clinical Informatics capability, professional development, and organizational learning.

Providing leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of competency frameworks, learning pathways, and other capability-building initiatives that support Clinical Informatics practice. Serving as a trusted Clinical Informatics advisor by promoting leading practices, mentoring others, facilitating knowledge sharing, and supporting evidence-informed decision making. Identifying opportunities to strengthen Clinical Informatics practice by applying emerging trends, innovation, evidence, and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve the eHealth Competency Program.

Success in this role requires exceptional communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.

Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in a relevant healthcare, education, information management, informatics, or related discipline. Minimum of five years' progressively responsible experience in Clinical Informatics. Minimum of ten years'

experience in healthcare delivery, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of healthcare.



Membership in good standing with the appropriate qualified regulatory body, where applicable. Demonstrated knowledge of Clinical Informatics principles, professional practice, and competency development.

Working knowledge of Alberta's healthcare system and Digital Health environment. Ability to communicate effectively and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholder groups. Ability to travel within Alberta as required.

Additional Required Qualifications

Commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and staying current with emerging Clinical Informatics practices. Ability to apply evidence, leading practices, and new knowledge to improve organizational outcomes. Strong relationship-building, facilitation, consultation, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to influence, build consensus, and establish credibility as a trusted advisor without formal authority.

Experience engaging diverse stakeholder groups and navigating complex or politically sensitive environments.

Experience translating strategic priorities into practical implementation approaches and sustainable organizational programs. Demonstrated ability to establish, improve, or evolve organizational programs, frameworks, processes, or services through collaboration and innovation.

Experience applying formal project management and organizational change management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Prosci, or equivalent) to support implementation and continuous improvement.

Experience evaluating initiatives and using evidence and stakeholder feedback to support continuous improvement. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Initiative, curiosity, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in evolving environments with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate education in Health Informatics, Health Administration, Education, Organizational Development, or a related discipline. Professional certification in Clinical Informatics or Digital Health (e.g., CPHIMS-CA, CPHIMS, CPDHTS®, or equivalent). Demonstrated leadership and contribution to the advancement of Clinical Informatics or Digital Health beyond the responsibilities of their current role.
