You will execute all standard work processes using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards, ensure safety processes are observed, perform quality assurance activities, and understand and report losses in your area and equipment.What You Will BringExperience operating machines with coachingKnowledge of safety and quality standards for operating machinesReading and writing skills, and fluency in the site’s language of communicationCollaboration skills in a diverse work environmentPackaging Machine OperatorThe Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining high‑speed packaging equipment within the cookie and cracker production line while ensuring the highest standards of safety, food quality, machine efficiency, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & ComplianceWork safely at all times by following all Mondelez safety standards, policies, and procedures.Comply with LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), health checks, and all workplace health and safety requirements.Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting unsafe conditions, and supporting corrective actions.Food Safety & QualityEnsure compliance with all Food Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices),
and sanitation standards.Perform regular quality inspections to verify product specifications and packaging material compliance.Accurately record and document quality checks in IQS systems.Maintain line cleanliness and uphold 5S standards throughout the shift.Machine Operation & EfficiencySet up, operate, and monitor machines to achieve optimal production performance.Perform efficient product changeovers while minimizing downtime and waste.Follow established Centerline standards and accurately document machine parameters.Conduct in‑shift pitstop activities including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication to maintain equipment condition.Monitor machine performance and report line downtime and stoppages using Shoplogix software.Perform initial troubleshooting of equipment issues and elevate breakdown concerns when required.Maintenance & Continuous ImprovementSupport preventive maintenance (PM) activities, including replacement of machine components as necessary.Assist in maintaining equipment reliability and operational efficiency.Develop and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and OPLs (One Point Lessons) to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.Flexibility & Team SupportBe available to work flexible hours to support operational needs and cover line gaps as requested.Demonstrate flexibility to learn and operate other packaging lines when required to support production demands.Follow instructions from Line Leaders and support additional operational duties as assigned.Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, quality, and sanitation teams to meet production goals and improve line performance.Material Handling & Physical RequirementsSafely perform manual handling tasks including lifting and stacking boxes up to 30 lbs.Operate pallet jacks to safely maneuver skids and materials within the production area.Stand,
bend, and work in a rapid‑paced manufacturing environment for extended periods.Qualifications & SkillsExperience operating packaging or manufacturing equipment in a food production environment preferred.Strong understanding of safety practices, GMPs, food safety, and quality systems.Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.Robust attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.Effective communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.Positive attitude with willingness to learn and adapt to changing production demands.EducationHigh School DiplomaSome post‑secondary education is an assetWorking ConditionsPosition located in a manufacturing plant environment.Exposure to noise, dust, and variable temperatures is common.Use of personal protective equipment is required (protective footwear, hearing protection, safety goggles, heat‑resistant gloves, hard hats, etc.).Use of company‑mandated uniform is required.Work Schedule10 PM to 6:30 AMSalary and BenefitsThe expected annualized salary range is $49,105 to $68,757 CAD, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget. The position is eligible for a competitive bonus program with a target of 5% and potential for overachievement based on performance and company results, as well as shift premiums and/or overtime.
