Position Summary The Senior Lease Analyst is responsible for the administration, analysis, and resolution of complex lease-related financial matters across a portfolio of leased properties. This role serves as a subject matter expert for lease financial obligations, landlord account management, audit support, and lease compliance.
The Senior Lease
Analyst leads the resolution of escalated issues, supports process improvements, and provides guidance to Lease Analysts while ensuring the integrity of lease-related financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Complex Lease Financial Administration
- Review and validate complex rent, CAM, tax, insurance, and occupancy-related charges.
- Interpret lease provisions to determine appropriate financial obligations.
- Resolve complex billing discrepancies and payment issues.
Escalations & Dispute Resolution
- Act as the primary escalation point for landlord disputes and account issues.
- Investigate complex lease interpretation matters affecting financial obligations.
- Coordinate resolution of disputed charges with landlords, auditors, Legal, Real Estate, and Finance teams.
Account Reconciliation & Controls
- Lead resolution of aged outstanding balances and complex account reconciliations.
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and lease obligations.
Audit Leadership
- Lead CAM, tax,
and insurance audit support activities.
- Review audit findings and supporting documentation.
- Challenge unsupported landlord charges and assist with recovery efforts.
- Coordinate with internal and external audit partners.
Data Integrity & Process Improvement
- Lead portfolio data validation and cleanup initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve lease administration processes and controls.
- Support system enhancements and process standardization efforts.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Provide guidance and training to Lease Analysts.
- Support onboarding and development of team members.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for lease financial administration.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of lease administration, lease analysis, property accounting, or commercial real estate experience.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial lease financial obligations and occupancy costs.
- Experience managing complex landlord relationships and dispute resolution.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead complex initiatives.
