The objective of the Registered Practical Nurse is to provide protected and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect.QUALIFICATIONSCurrent registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent BCLS certificationOne year experience working to the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario as a RPN in a healthcare settingCurrent medication administration experience within the past two yearsDemonstrated knowledge and skill in physical assessmentDemonstrated proficiency in the application of enhanced nursing skillsDemonstrated proficiency in IV Therapy Initiation and use of IV pumpsDemonstrated knowledge of and skill with CVADs, CADD pumps, VAC therapy and enteral feedsApplies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and serviceDemonstrated commitment to patient/client centred careDemonstrated ability to perform effectively in a collaborative total patient care modelDemonstrated commitment to patient and family education and the ability to promote health and wellnessEvidence of accurate,
