This is an existing vacancy.About The RoleStelco is seeking a 4th Class Operating Stationary Engineer at its Lake Erie facility in Nanticoke Ontario, Canada.Your Day-to-dayOperate and maintain low and high pressure steam systems; Operate and maintain environmental control equipmentOperate equipment to support various production units including turbines, pumps, compressors, turbo alternators, cooling towers, water treatment systems, gas systems,



and HVAC equipmentPerform chemical analysis on process water and adjust systems to maintain operations, including the handling of reagents, chemicals, and chemical injection equipmentOperate and maintain gas testing equipment and participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry PermitsProvide isolation, lockouts, clearances and safe work permits on Utilities systems and process equipmentAssist in the development of energy control procedures and safe work practicesAssist with maintenance planning and repair of equipment; Operate in accordance with all applicable procedures, policies, and regulations.Job QualificationsTSSA 4th Class Operating Engineer CertificateMinimum of 2-year experience in an industrial environmentJob Skills And KnowledgeTemperature Tolerance: The ability to withstand extreme temperaturesReaction Time: The ability to quickly respond to process upsetsStatic Strength: The ability to exert significant muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objectsTrunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time, including bending and stoopingDynamic Strength: The ability to exert muscle force at intervals throughout a work shift.
