Procurement Specialistfor provincial government agency client, Downtown Toronto.Job Type: Temporary.Initial Term: June 8, 2026 to September 8, 2026, with possibility for extension.Existing Vacancy: Yes.Target Compensation: From $45.00 to $53.90 per hour, according to experience.Regular Work Hours: FULL TIME WORK HOURS – 7.25 work hours per day, not including unpaid 45 min lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week). Occasional overtime may be requested.Work Location: 100% onsite at Client's Downtown Toronto office, near TTC station.Position Reports To: Director of Finance.Responsibilities SummaryProvide procurement expertise and operational support, ensuring adherence to procurement policies, procedures and compliance requirements.Provide strategic advice and guidance regarding procurement methods and procurement-related activities.Issue purchase orders and support end-to-end procurement processes and documentation requirements.Ensure procurement supporting documentation is complete and obtain required approvals according to Delegation of Financial Authority requirements.Review procurement documentation and ensure compliance with Ontario Public Service (OPS) Procurement Directives and applicable policies.Work closely with the Sr. Procurement Advisor to support procurement activities and organizational initiatives.Assist with process improvements, corporate reporting activities, and document archiving initiatives.Maintain organized procurement records and support accurate documentation and reporting practices.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities are completed efficiently and effectively.Additional procurement responsibilities as required.QualificationsEducation:
Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field, or applicable combination of work experience and education.Preferred Work Experience: At least 4+ years of progressive, related work experience in procurement and purchasing activities.Preferred Sector Experience: Public sector procurement experience considered a strong asset.Technical and Language Skills RequirementsWorking knowledge of procurement platforms, ERP systems and related procurement technologies.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams (may be tested).Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including robust business writing skills, excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and syntax, and polished professional communication skills.Task-Based Qualifications and Additional AttributesKnowledge of procurement methods, policies, procedures and best practices.Knowledge of Ontario Public Service (OPS) Procurement Directives considered an asset.Experience reviewing procurement documentation and ensuring policy compliance.Experience with purchase order processing and procurement administration.Strong attention to detail and organized, methodical approach to completion of tasks.Demonstrated ability to work well independently, collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity,
while liaising effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Advanced organizational, coordinative and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.Strong relationship management skills including stakeholder engagement, consultation and advisory skills.Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character.
