Providing legal advice and guidance on various issues related to all facets of our life, accident and sickness, group benefits and creditor insurance business. Negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts (such as distribution, reinsurance and networking agreements), insurance policies and endorsements, and internal guidelines. Cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with key legal and business personnel.
Representing the organization in industry groups and committees, pro‑actively identifying and actioning process improvements,
and keeping current on legislation and legal developments. You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions. You have a minimum of 10 years of broad and progressive legal experience in the insurance industry, with a particular focus on life, accident and sickness, group perks and creditor insurance. or a Bachelor of Laws (LL.degree and are licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory.
