Supervisor (Microbiology) - Eurofins Cosmetics & Personal Care, Inc.Full-timeCompensation:CAD 50,000 - CAD 55,000 yearlyGeneral Tasks & Responsibilities:Leading the Microbiology team of Eurofins Cosmetic and Personal CareOrganization of the lab and dutiesMonitor and manage inventory of suppliesReview and determine the status of quality documents such as raw laboratory data, validation studies, logbooks, and calibration reportsInitiate and conduct deviations and out‑of‑specification investigationsInitiate and conduct Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigationsTraining of new staff and ongoing training for team membersEnsure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures at all timesPerform equipment maintenance and follow SOPsPerform review of dataEnsure department cultures are maintained and viable for analysisConduct Microbial Limit testing using EP/BP/USP methods for samplesPerform Environmental monitoring of the Micro labPrepare samples for analysisEvaluate and summarize instrumentation data in final reportsPerform tasks such as serial dilution, plating, and sub‑culturingAssist in troubleshooting problem assays within the departmentVerify that all samples are handled, stored, and delivered in a manner that maintains sample integrity at all timesWork with the JHSC to ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, including accident investigationsCommunicate clearly and articulately to clients, management, coworkers, and staffReview applications, conduct interviews, and make hiring decisions for direct reporting positionsManage laboratory equipment and consumables inventory; purchase supplieswhen neededAdminister,



direct, and document the training of assigned staff on quality‑related issues, SOPs, methods, regulatory requirements, and lab policies and proceduresEvaluate and approve or reject prospective and in‑progress non‑conformances, investigate causes, and implement corrective actionMaintain an orderly, clean and safe work area and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environmentMaintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of all stakeholdersQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related fieldsGraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related fields would be a strong asset1‑3 years of experience in microbiology‑related industriesProficient in operating instruments and equipmentExperience with a variety of routine and non‑routine microbiology techniques, methods, and proceduresProficient in data retrieval and interpretation of routine analysis or testsBasic troubleshooting skills for instruments and methodsAbility to write lab reportsFamiliarity with Health Canada guidelines; knowledge of USP,ACMPR, GMP,



and GLPAdditional Qualifications:Must speak and write English fluentlyBilingualism is a robust assetExperience working in a contract laboratory is considered an assetExcellent organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in EnglishAbility to handle a variety of samplesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently while supporting a collaborative, team‑based departmentAbility to multitask and remain calm under pressureAbility to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlinesTechnical Skills:Exceptional computer skills with a high level of competence with MS OfficeWorking knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)Working Conditions:This position requires working in a laboratory environment where standing is required for greater than 50% of the time at the bench for analyses. Light lifting of no more than 20 lbs.
