It operates across Ontario and focuses on delivering customer service and building safe communities.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & AnalysisReview existing budgetary, business plan, staff plan, and financial controls of the Security Operations team to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.Prepare monthly forecasts and variance reports, explaining significant variances between budgeted, forecasted, and actual expenditures.Provide advice and recommendations to managers and directors on investment plans and forecasts.Prepare and deliver presentations to communicate approved budgets and forecast trends.Gather departmental feedback and prepare budget requirements for Cyber and Physical Security, ensuring timely submission.Monitor financial processes by developing, tracking, and analyzing KPIs to evaluate forecast effectiveness.Utilize financial and management systems to consolidate information for reports on cost trends, performance, and productivity.Develop strategies to accelerate or slow initiatives based on financial constraints or technical dependencies, outlining business impacts.Governance & ComplianceAssist in mitigating business risk through governance over financial transactions, reporting, and internal control frameworks.Manage compliance programs to ensure adherence to corporate policies and effective risk mitigation.Optimize reporting confidence by improving data quality through consistent data governance frameworks.Provide guidance on statutes, codes, and policies applicable to the business.Support regulatory requirements, including preparation of evidence, briefing material,



and hearing support for the Ontario Energy Board.Stakeholder EngagementMaintain historical records of financial submission approaches and lessons learned for managers and directors.Create and maintain partnerships with internal and external team leaders.Act as a consultant to managers and directors for finance reporting and planning.Collaborate with business lines to evaluate financial material, design internal controls, and resolve process or data issues.Liaise with other departments to understand project impacts on processes and initiatives.Provide recommendations and analytics to senior leadership and stakeholders to align with corporate strategy, improve productivity, and reduce costs.Prepare presentations and briefing notes for senior executives, committees, and the Board of Directors.Accounting & ReportingMaintain the general ledger, including chart of accounts, reconciliations, and system enhancements.Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Perform functional accounting duties such as managing account balances, fixed assets, and preparing journals.Provide analysis and input to the monthly close process, including fixed asset reporting and regulatory compliance.Oversee mapping from the general ledger to the Uniform System of Accounts (USofA).Coordinate Statistics Canada Surveys and streamline processes.Manage external audit requirements,



ensuring timely provision of working papers.Maintain internal control policies and monitor compliance with accounting standards.QualificationsRequires a broad and deep knowledge of finance, financial reporting, accounting, internal control and governance and process design.Requires a four-year undergraduate degree in business, commerce or economics with an accounting or finance major and a professional designation such as CPA, CPA- CA, CPA-CMA, CPA-CGA or other relevant qualified business designation. An MBA would be considered an asset. 8 - 10 years relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting at an intermediate level.Knowledge of and Experience in a rate-regulated environment is highly desirable.Certification in disciplines related to governance, project management and/or process controls, data analytics/science are an asset.Requires ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff orally, written and using communication tools.Requires excellent interpersonal, collaboration and facilitation skills to deal with multiple stakeholders across the company to provide advice and guidance to resolve controversial issues or build consensus.Requires project management skills.Requires sound judgment and accurate analysis of issues impacting on the Company to prepare analyses and commentary.Knowledge of the electric utility business and rate regulated industry would be highly beneficial.Knowledge of SAP, MS, Access, Visio, VBA and Risk Analysis software, databases, excel, PowerPoint.Additional InformationDeadline: May 26, 2026Hydro One is an equal opportunity employer.
