As Senior Director, FP&A;, you will own financial planning, analysis, and management reporting for a major Canadian wealth management business. You will act as a trusted finance partner to senior wealth management executives, shaping the financial narrative behind business performance, growth initiatives, and strategic investment decisions.
This role is built as a development seat for future finance leadership. The successful candidate will be given genuine exposure to executive decision-making, with the expectation that strong performance opens a path toward a VP or CFO-level role within the business over time.
What You'll Do
- Own the FP&A; function for a wealth management business, including annual planning, rolling forecasts, and long-range outlook
- Partner directly with senior wealth management leadership on business performance, growth strategy, and investment decisions
- Build and deliver executive-level financial analysis, presentations, and business case modelling
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across revenue, expenses, and strategic initiatives
- Lead benchmarking and peer comparisons across the wealth management landscape
- Build strong working relationships across the broader Finance leadership team to support career progression toward VP/CFO
- Lead, mentor,
and grow a team of finance professionals
Must-Have Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive FP&A; experience, ideally including exposure to wealth management, asset management, or capital markets
- Currently operating at an AVP level or equivalent, ready to make a lateral move into a broader, higher-visibility mandate
- Strong executive presence — comfortable presenting directly to senior business leaders
- Proven ability to translate financial data into strategic insight and actionable recommendations
- CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ambition and trajectory toward a VP or CFO-level role
Nice to Have
- Experience in a large, regulated Canadian financial institution
- Exposure to investment products, advisory platforms, or asset management economics
- Experience building or improving forecasting and reporting tools
- Big 4 public accounting background
Why This Role?
- Genuine succession runway — this seat is built with a future VP/CFO path in mind
- Exceptional visibility — direct partnership with senior wealth management leadership
- A lateral step up in scope and exposure for someone ready to move beyond an AVP mandate
