Duties
This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex economic development projects and funding agreements that support growth across Northern Ontario. The incumbent works closely with businesses, municipalities, Indigenous communities, not-for-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to provide advice on funding opportunities, assist with the development of project proposals, assess funding applications, and monitor approved projects. The role also involves building and maintaining partnerships with various levels of government and community organizations, facilitating regional economic development initiatives, providing input into programs and policies, and ensuring that funded projects comply with program requirements, agreement terms and conditions, and legislative obligations.
Essential Qualifications
Education
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the positions or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
Experiences: -Experience in developing and providing advice on complex** matters.
**Complex is understood to mean those with some of the following characteristics: multidimensional, highly sensitive, affecting many partners or stakeholders external or /and internal , precedent-setting, having a major impact on service or program delivery.
- Experience building relationships with various constituents and partners (federal, provincial, or municipal governments, Indigenous organizations, not-for-profit organizations or private sector).
- Experience in the development or delivery of economic development programming* and/or grants and contribution programs;
* Economic development programming includes, but is not limited to community development, entrepreneurship, business development, housing and infrastructure, etc
Knowledge
-Knowledge of the economic development realities, challenges and opportunities in Northern Ontario.
Abilities
- Ability to present analysis and recommendations to management.
-Ability to apply due diligence practices and techniques for assessing complex business plans and funding applications.
- Ability to conduct financial analysis, including financial ratio analysis.

Pay: $89,966.00-$128,102.00 per year
