This senior-level individual contributor role owns system-level architecture, cross-domain integration, virtual validation, and advanced modeling toolchains. The role translates product and program requirements into robust, executable system solutions using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), enabling virtual development, optimization, and validation across the full product lifecycle.Key Responsibilities Own system-level architecture, definition, and integration for electrified and mechatronic products.Translate product and program requirements into robust, testable, and executable system models.Lead cross-domain system integration across controls, embedded software, power electronics, electric machines, thermal, fluid, and mechanical systems.Develop, maintain, and evolve MBSE artifacts including system architectures, functional models, and interface definitions.Design, build, and deploy modeling tools and engineering GUIs to support MBSE, system simulation, and workflow automation.Develop electrical and electronic circuit models,
including power electronics and embedded control interfaces.Develop vehicle-level and system-level simulation models incorporating representative drive cycles and flight/usage cycles, supporting performance, energy, and thermal assessments.Define and support virtual engineering, co-simulation, and system-level validation environments.Lead system-level trade studies and multi-objective optimization activities to support architecture and design decisions.Develop system models suitable for MIL, SIL, and HIL environments in support of controls development, calibration, and validation.Support software and firmware controller calibration activities across MIL, SIL, and HIL environments.Calibrate control algorithms and embedded controller parameters using system-level simulation models and representative operating scenarios.Collaborate with Controls teams to ensure consistency between controller models, embedded implementations, and system-level assumptions.Enable early-phase calibration and tuning using virtual environments to reduce dependence on late hardware testing.Support calibration activities across vehicle-level and mission-level operating cycles, including drive cycles and flight/usage profiles.Leverage simulation, optimization, and data analysis to enable robust, repeatable, and traceable calibration workflows.Own and manage Git-based repositories for system models, optimization frameworks, modeling tools, and Virtual Engineering utilities.Ensure consistency, traceability, documentation, and quality of modeling, simulation,
and software artifacts.Required Qualifications PhD in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field is strongly preferred. Master’s degree with significant relevant industry experience may also be considered.Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in system-level modeling, simulation, and integration for complex electro-mechanical or electrified systems (or equivalent demonstrated impact at senior levels).Strong foundation in electrical engineering, including electrical circuit modeling, power electronics, electric machines, and control systems.Proven hands-on experience with system-level modeling using MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent environments.Demonstrated experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies in product development.Experience developing engineering tools, scripts, and/or GUIs to enable modeling, simulation, and workflow automation.Experience supporting controller software and firmware calibration in a model-based development environment.Understanding of embedded controller constraints (e.G., execution timing, fixed-point effects, and parameterization strategies).Experience calibrating controllers using MIL, SIL, and HIL workflows.Ability to calibrate and validate controllers across system-level operating scenarios (e.G., vehicle drive cycles or mission/flight profiles).Strong background in optimization methods and system-level trade studies.Programming experience in MATLAB and Python; experience with C/C++ for embedded or control applications is an asset.Additional Information Compensation: $125,000 to $140,000 annuallyRecruitment Technology: Artificial intelligence (AI) is used to screen, assess, or select applicants for this position.Accommodations for disabilities in relation to the job selection process are available upon request.#J-18808-Ljbffr
