Our client, a well-established professional services firm, is seeking a Manager, Finance to lead their Finance department and oversee all financial operations supporting the organization's strategic and operational goals. Reporting to the Managing Principal, this role offers broad ownership across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, project accounting, compliance, internal controls, and ERP systems, along with direct team leadership.

You'll partner closely with HR, the Board, and department leaders to provide financial insight, drive operational performance, and support long-term strategic decision-making.

What You'll Do

Finance Leadership & Department Management

- Lead day-to-day Finance operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all accounting functions
- Coach, mentor, and manage performance of Finance team members
- Set departmental priorities and workloads to meet deadlines
- Develop and continuously improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Lead ERP and financial systems implementation and optimization
- Serve as the organization's primary financial resource

Financial Management, Reporting & Business Performance

- Oversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor KPIs, profitability, utilization, and variance trends
- Build dashboards and reports to support decision-making
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital forecasting




- Present financial results and strategic recommendations to the Managing Principal and Board
- Support strategic planning and evaluate financial impacts of key initiatives

Financial Operations & Project Accounting

- Oversee project accounting, billing, revenue recognition, WIP, consultant invoicing, and project closeout
- Partner with Project Managers and Principals on budgets, forecasting, and profitability
- Monitor accounts receivable, collections, and project cash flow
- Support contract reviews and oversee banking, vendor payments, and payroll funding

Budgeting, Forecasting, Governance & Compliance

- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, payroll, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, and regulators
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies

What You Bring

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
- CPA designation required
- 8–10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- Proven experience leading a finance department and managing staff
- Experience championing change management initiatives alongside HR
- Robust knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, project accounting, ERP systems, and internal controls
- Hands-on experience implementing and optimizing ERP/financial systems
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills
