Junior Field Engineer (Temporary - 6 Months)We are hiring for the position ofJunior Field Engineer (Temp - 6 Months).Discipline : Civil Engineering / Geological Engineering / Engineering GeologyAbout the RoleOur Vancouver office is seeking a motivated Junior Field Engineer for a 6‑month temporary position. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a background in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Engineering Geology who are interested in gaining hands‑on field experience on infrastructure and geotechnical projects.You will work under the supervision of senior engineers and project managers, supporting field investigations, construction monitoring, and reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesField InvestigationsAssist with planning and executing field investigations (e.G., drilling, test pits, sampling, in‑situ testing)Prepare clear and accurate field notes, logs, sketches, and daily reportsCollect, label, and manage soil, rock, and other material samples; coordinate laboratory testingAssist with instrumentation installation and monitoring (e.G., piezometers, inclinometers, settlement plates)Construction MonitoringConduct field inspections and monitoring for earthworks, foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and related civil/geotechnical worksPrepare clear and accurate field notes, logs, sketches, and daily reportsCommunicate field observations and issues promptly to the supervising engineer or project managerGeneralFollow company health, safety, and environmental procedures and contribute to a solid safety cultureSupport data compilation, analysis, and preparation of figures, tables,
and input for technical reportsPerform other related duties as assigned in support of project and office needsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Engineering Geology, or closely related discipline0–3 years of relevant experience (co‑op or internship experience in field or construction environments is an asset)Understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and/or geotechnical engineering general principlesProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with CAD orGIS considered an assetValid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license and acceptable driving recordSkills & AttributesWillingness and physical ability to work outdoors or construction sites in varied weather, remote locations with uneven terrain, and site conditionsStrong technical writing and documentation skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety and qualityGood interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team and with contractors/clients on siteOrganized, self‑motivated, and able to manage time and multiple tasks in a fast‑paced project environmentWork ConditionsThis is a temporary, full‑time position (approximately 6 months), based in our Vancouver officeField work is required and may include extended or irregular hours, weekends, and travel within BC and potentially other regionsCompany‑provided or reimbursed travel and accommodationsThe base pay range for this position is $6,000 to $7,000 CAD per month.
