Senior HR & Payroll Generalist (Multi-Province)

Abbotsford, BC · Full-time, permanent · $80,000–$92,000

About Us

Su Casa Design is an award-winning, full-service home design firm in Abbotsford, BC, with more than 20 years in the Fraser Valley. We are also part of something larger.

Alongside Su Casa, our ownership group operates more than 30 Booster Juice locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, and is opening Better Forever, a new health, performance and pain-resolution clinic in Langley, BC.

Those businesses look nothing alike. What they share is a leadership team that values ambition, teamwork and striving for excellence — and a growing need for one person to own the people side of the work properly.

Our Offer

- A real challenge. You are not inheriting a tidy HR department. You will be our first dedicated payroll and HR administration role across the group, with the opportunity to improve and standardize how this work gets done.
- Earnings and advantages that reflect your experience — $80,000 to $92,000 per year, extended health and dental, paid time off, and company events.
- Access to education and skills development that takes you further, including support toward payroll and HR designations.
- Tools for the next era. We are a heavily AI-enabled group. You will have enterprise AI at your desk and leaders who expect you to use it to eliminate manual work.

The Job

You will work hands-on with operations leaders across all three businesses. Here is what you will own:

Payroll and Administration

- Process payroll accurately and on time across multiple companies and five provinces, in both PUSH Operations and Payworks
- Handle corrections, adjustments, deductions, vacation payouts, sick pay and tip distribution
- Produce Records of Employment and support T4 season
- Set up new hires in payroll, manage status changes and deactivations, and keep records clean
- Support payroll reconciliation with Finance
- Standardize pay cycles and payroll workflows as we bring new businesses and locations on

Benefits and Employee Support

- Take over as benefits plan administrator across the group — enrolments, changes, terminations, eligibility, premium deductions
- Be the person employees and store leaders go to when something about their pay or benefits is wrong
- Support WorkSafeBC / WCB administration and claims coordination across provinces

Compliance and Records

- Bring employment agreements, onboarding documents, tax forms and policy acknowledgements to a consistent, audit-ready standard across every location
- Track and close documentation gaps by following up with store and department leaders — persistently
- Maintain working knowledge of employment standards, WCB and payroll requirements in BC, AB, SK, MB and ON, and flag where our practice does not match
- Coordinate work permit, LMIA and immigration documentation alongside our operations team

Recruiting and Onboarding Support

- Post roles, screen applications and coordinate interviews for our teams
- Set and hold a minimum onboarding standard, and maintain the systems that confirm onboarding is complete

Your Experience

This is a hands-on seat with no direct reports — the payroll runs through you.

Required

- 5 years in payroll and HR administration, personally processing multi-location payroll
- Hands-on payroll processing in a multi-entity payroll platform (PUSH Operations, Payworks, ADP, Dayforce, Ceridian or similar)
- Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards, statutory deductions, ROEs and T4s
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion
- Legally entitled to work in Canada, based within commuting distance of Abbotsford

Robust assets

- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation — or the multi-province experience to challenge it, with our support to complete it in your first year
- Multi-province payroll, especially Saskatchewan, Manitoba or Ontario

- Benefits plan administration experience
- Franchise, restaurant, retail or other high-turnover hourly workforce experience
- CPHR or CPHR Candidate status
- Experience with LMIA and temporary foreign worker documentation

Who You Are

- You are relentlessly organized, and unfinished paperwork bothers you
- You chase down missing or incomplete forms without being unpleasant about it
- You stay calm and precise on payroll day, every payroll day
- You would rather fix a process than run it manually one more time

You believe in:
- Collaborating as a team
- Learning and growing
- Taking action
- Humility
- Braving tough conversations
- Having fun

You understand that we are in the people business.

What This Role Does Not Own

This role does not own scheduling, labour management, hiring decisions, performance management, corrective action, investigations, terminations or employment-law strategy. Those stay with operations leadership and our advisors. You will support all of them but not own them.
