Reporting to the Chair, Industry Training, the Senior Instructor, Cooking Programs provides leadership and oversight for the planning, coordination, administration, and delivery of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship cooking programs across Nunavut. The position plays a key role in supporting Nunavut Arctic College's mandate to develop a skilled workforce by ensuring high-quality, industry-relevant training opportunities are available to adult learners throughout the territory.
The Senior Instructor is responsible for managing cooking program staff, curriculum development, accreditation requirements, training facilities, equipment and resources, as well as base-funded and third-party funded program budgets. Working closely with communities, government departments, industry partners, and apprenticeship authorities, the incumbent ensures programs meet educational, industry, and Red Seal standards while contributing to the successful implementation of Nunavut's trades training strategy.
The position also provides instructional leadership, fosters strong stakeholder relationships, and supports student success through effective program planning, delivery, and evaluation.
